Portland Oregon skyline using watercolor. The largest city in Oregon, Portland, is also known as the City of Roses, thanks to its obsession with this particular breed of a flower. The city is best known for its gorgeous Beaches, centuries-old lighthouses, and mouth-watering local cuisine. Apart from the picture perfect landscapes, the metropolitan city is also home to some of the finest breweries and world class restaurants that attract travelers from all around the country. Popular destinations include lush green Japanese Garden, historic Pittock Mansion, and International Rose Test Garden, containing approximately 650 different varieties of roses.
